I’m ballin right now so I’ll get to that later…

Oh fuck does it feel amazing to run good. Like devouring the Moons over my Hammy pictured above, drinking a cold beer poolside, or falling into a pile of puppies. Today marked the official end of my early may downswing/breakeven-stretch/FML-24-7.
All the month of May has been uneventful, which is why I haven’t been writing too much. Just jumping up and down a few hundo day in and day out and not really making any progress besides the rakeback. During times like that, I usually put in a lot of studying, HHs, Wiz, SNGPT, forums, videos ect… I always want to look for times to improve when playing may not be the best option b/c of how I’m running or how I’m feeling mentally. Also if I’m out of redbull all bets are off. I cannot function without redbull.
Today though, I ran ridiculously well. Based on my review I had actually been playing very well during the month of may, as always I’m learning and finding some mistakes, or trying some new things, but overall I was playing really well and just not getting the right results. Today was a miracle. The kind of day that reminds you why you play poker. 3.4 hours, 31 Turbo SNGs, $1,577 in profits pre-rakeback!
I usually have this curse of running really bad in whatever the highest limit I play is (I table select across 3-4 limits at a time.) For instance, when I play 22/33/55s on Tilt, I always get crushed out on the bubble in the 55s, and at the end of the day all my profits from the lower games where I run close to 10%ROI are eaten up by running bad in the 55s. I say running bad when I lose an inordinate amount of unavoidable flips, get coolered bvb, or lose with dominating hands. If I lose b/c I played like a donkey, I come clean, don’t worry (it’s rare but it happens, like when I spazzed out with 88 on Sunday.)
Today I ran well in the highest limit I played. I don’t think that’s happened for me since I was a 22 player just breaking into the 33s. Whenever I play Super Turbos, I always win flips in the 14s and lose them in the 70s. Today was a new day. I played 4 $110+9 SNGs and won 3 of them, losing in the other with QQ vs AKo. That was good for $1009 right there. In addition, I scooped a couple 55s, and just overall ran well in the 22/33/55/110s. $1610 after rakeback, not bad for a half a days work eh?. I like playing during the day; I felt really focused. I practiced excellent table selection, I played with a ton of donks, even at the highest stakes, I took excellent notes and exploited players based on my observations.
I hovered around 6-8 games simultaneously all afternoon due to table selection slowing me a bit, and just didn’t feel the need to fire up a 9th. For some reason 8 felt like the magic number today. Some days I’m only up to concentrating on 6, some days 12. I like to start slow with a few games and see how sharp my mind is. If it all feels like a blur I often cut session short or take a break and eat something.
Some days you just don’t have it mentally. Other days you’re in the effen zone. The worst is when you’re in the zone, but the poker gods refuse to let you win a hand, and you don’t want to stop playing b/c you know you are playing perfect and just getting butt-jammed, but the best is when you play like a god and run like Jesus. Today was the best.
